If
we have had or are having inclement weather check the SYSA hot
line (703-729-8728) after 8:00am on Saturday to confirm that
games have not been cancelled.
In the event of
a called game due to inclement weather, home team is responsible for field
take down. Home team for the first game
of the day needs to be sure to paint
the lines on the field. You
may want to do this the evening before. It can take an hour to an
hour and a half to do. You need to put up the corner flags and make
sure that the nets are secure. It is a good idea to walk the field
to make sure that it is clean of debris. If there are any problems with the
field or field supplies (painter, paint, flags) please report the problem
to your Division Coordinator or to the SYSA field coordinator. Home team is the first team
listed
on the scheduled pairings. The Home team wears Orange and the Visiting
team wears White. U06
Division Home Team squads remain on
the same fields for both games. Visiting team squads switch fields for the
second game. During your
game be
positive to all of the players on both teams. Be sure to keep a
positive attitude as your players and their parents will usually take your
lead. Be sure to rotate your players at the quarter breaks and ensure that
they all receive equal playing time and get to play all of the
positions. After the game, be sure to shake hands with the other
team and coaches to show proper sportsmanship. Make sure that your
team cleans up any trash on your sidelines and takes it with
them. Home team for the last game
of the day needs to be sure to take
down the corner flags and put them away. Make sure that the lock box is
locked. If during your game
something occurred that you feel needs to be
reported, please do so as soon as possible to your Division Coordinator or
to an officer that is handling the area of occurrence (i.e. fields,
referee, field equipment, etc.)
