PICTURE DAY:
Picture day for U6-U19 Recreational Teams will be held this coming
Saturday May 20th at Meadowland Elementary School. Go to the website to
see what time your team is scheduled to attend. PICTURE DAY IS HELD RAIN
OR SHINE – EVEN IF FIELDS ARE CLOSED DUE TO WEATHER. Please be there
on time to ensure that your team picture is not taken without your
child. SYSA will also be holding an Equipment Drive at Picture Day – if you
have jerseys, shorts, shinguards, soccer socks, balls or cleats that
are going unused, please bring them to Picture Day and donate them to a
child who may need financial assistance.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS CANDIDATES NEEDED:
In June, three members of SYSA’s Board of Directors will have their
terms expire. SYSA is seeking candidates who are interested in running to
fill these positions. SYSA Board meets once a month and works to set
the direction of the club. The term for a board member position is 3
years.
If you have an interest in running for the Board, send an email to:
mntlvr23@aol.com along with a short letter to the voting membership
explaining why you would like to run for the Board; outlining your
experience in youth soccer; and providing any additional information about
your philosophies or goals for the club. Please respond no later than
June 10th.
SYSA UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE
Visit www.sysa.net and you will find a brand new look. The new website
has just been launched – look for new and updated content to be built
onto the site throughout the remainder of the season and the summer.
The new site has an underlying structure that members should find more
user friendly and organized. Just as important, the site is much more
user friendly for some of the computer challenged officers. This will
result in better and more timely communications put out to the club.
CONGRATULATIONS SYSA SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
At the end of each school year, SYSA awards scholarships to a few
outstanding high school seniors who have participated in SYSA and have
excelled: on the field, in the classroom and in the volunteer community.

THANK YOU TO ALL REFEREES, COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS
As the Spring Season is quickly coming to an end, SYSA wants to take
this opportunity to thank all of our referees, coaches and other
volunteers who have helped make this season go so smoothly. We have had almost
no incidents reported to us regarding sideline behavior, coaching
issues, operations issues, etc. We credit this to the great job that the
coaches are doing with the kids, the outstanding coverage and job being
performed by our referees, and all of the hours that our volunteers put
in to assure that our kids will have a great experience out on the
fields. Thanks to all !!
END OF SEASON RECREATIONAL COACHES MEETING
The end of season Recreational Coaches Meeting will be held on
Wednesday June 7th at 8:00 pm at Countryside Elementary School. One coach from
each team MUST attend. Patches, Trophies and Team Photos will be
distributed to the appropriate age groups.
