SYSA Referee Uniform Requirements and Purchase Options
Uniform Requirements
U6-U7 Rec Game Referees - our junior referees only need basic equipment in order to referee these youngest games:
- Gold referee shirt
- Black shorts
- Official referee socks (black with 3 white stripes)
- Referee whistle (suggest having a spare in case one breaks or is lost)
- A watch or stopwatch to keep time
U8-U11 and above Rec Game Referees and all Travel Game Referees – a full set of referee gear is needed for these levels, including flags for Assistant Referees, yellow and red cards, and sheets for keeping score. The following is therefore required:
- Gold referee shirt
- Black shorts
- Official referee socks (black with 3 white stripes)
- Referee whistle (suggest having a spare in case on breaks or is lost)
- A watch or stopwatch to keep time
- Pair of referee flags
- Set of red/yellow cards
- Score keeping sheets
Note: caps may be worn but must be solid black with no “emblems”
