The Sterling Power Orange 97 Boys Travel Team was formed by the Sterling Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) in Fall of 2006. The team is coached by Mark Janis, Michael Smith, and our professional trainer - Hisham Gomes. This U12 team is currently competing in Division 3 of the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) for the Spring 2010 season.
Power Orange Coaching Philosophy:
Our commitment as Travel Soccer coaches will be to provide abundant encouragement in a positive environment, to emphasize the teaching of skills and to increase the players’ soccer knowledge development. We promote Honor, Duty, and Integrity, and seek to awaken player’s internal motivation. We emphasize how these values apply in school, leading to better quality students and better results. We seek to keep a proper perspective. Travel Soccer IS competitive, and there is a desire to win, but our fundamental belief is that the Keys to Success are strong positive reinforcement and excellent preparation. We absolutely do not believe in “Winning at any cost”.
